Features

Everything you need to print labels professionally

Template Designer

Build label layouts with text, images, and shapes. Set sizes in millimetres, control fonts and alignment, and save as many reusable templates as you need.

Batch Merge

Import a CSV or Excel file, map columns to template fields in one dialog, and generate hundreds of personalised labels in seconds.

Label Sheet Layouts

Define your paper grid once — columns, rows, margins, and spacing — and reuse it across templates. Enter spacing as pitch (Avery style) or gap (Herma style); LabelPress converts on the fly. Includes presets for DYMO LabelWriter, Brother QL, and Rollo roll printers.

Conference Badge Printing

Originally built for the Epson ColorWorks C4000. Print full badge batches before the event from a spreadsheet, or print individual badges on demand at the registration desk. Supports fold-over butterfly badges (two mirror copies on one strip) on sticker paper or plain paper.

QR Code Layers

Add QR codes to any label or badge template. Bind each code to a data field so every row in your spreadsheet generates a unique, personalised QR code — perfect for check-in links, attendee IDs, product URLs, or serial numbers. Choose error-correction level and custom foreground and background colours.

How it works

From spreadsheet to printed label in four steps

1
Design your label template

Use the built-in Image Editor to compose your label — drag in a background image, add shapes, fixed text, QR code layers, and position the variable fields (name, company, title…) exactly where you want them. Set the physical size in millimetres.

2
Import your data

Go to the Merge tab and import a .csv or .xlsx file — or paste directly from Excel or Numbers. LabelPress maps your columns to template fields automatically. Supports exports from Eventbrite, Google Sheets, and any standard spreadsheet.

3
Preview before you print

Step through every label at full fidelity. An overflow warning highlights any text that extends beyond the label edge. Edit values directly in the preview window — changes write back to the table instantly.

4
Print to any AirPrint printer

Send individual labels or full Avery/Herma sheets directly to your AirPrint printer — no drivers, no cloud upload, no subscription. Fine-tune print position with mm-level offset controls if your printer needs it. LabelPress was originally developed and tested on the Epson ColorWorks C4000 colour label printer.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Does LabelPress work with Avery label sheets? +

Yes. LabelPress lets you define any label sheet grid by setting columns, rows, margins, and spacing. The spacing section has a Pitch / Gap toggle: Avery datasheets publish pitch (label size + gap), while Herma datasheets publish the gap directly — enter whichever you have and LabelPress converts automatically. Five Avery and Herma presets are built in to get you started quickly.

Can I import a CSV or Excel file to print multiple labels at once? +

Yes. The Merge tab accepts .csv and .xlsx files. LabelPress reads the first row as column headers and lets you map each column to a template field. It also accepts pasted data from Excel or Numbers. The Lite version supports up to 50 rows per import; Pro is unlimited.

Does LabelPress require an internet connection? +

No. LabelPress runs entirely on your Mac. All templates, fonts, and data are stored locally. Printing goes directly to your AirPrint printer on the local network — no cloud upload, no account required.

What printers are compatible with LabelPress? +

Any AirPrint-compatible printer on your local network works with LabelPress — no drivers to install. This includes most modern laser and inkjet printers from Brother, Canon, Epson, HP, and others, as well as dedicated label printers. LabelPress was originally developed and tested on the Epson ColorWorks C4000 colour label printer, making it a natural fit for professional label and badge printing on that device.

What is the difference between the Lite and Pro versions? +

The free Lite version gives you the full feature set with limits: up to 5 templates, 50 rows per import, and 2 custom fonts. Pro ($29, one-time) removes all limits — unlimited templates, unlimited merge rows, and unlimited custom fonts — and includes free updates.

Does LabelPress work with DYMO, Brother QL, or Rollo printers? +

Yes, if the printer appears as a standard CUPS queue on macOS (which DYMO, Brother QL, and Rollo do when their drivers are installed). LabelPress includes built-in presets for common roll formats — DYMO address and name badge labels, Brother DK address and shipping labels, and the Rollo/Zebra 4×6 shipping label — so you can get started without manually entering dimensions. For single labels, use Fill & Print with the default "Label size" paper setting; for batch runs from a spreadsheet, use Label Sheets with a roll preset.

Can I add a QR code to my labels? +

Yes. The template editor lets you add one or more QR code layers to any label or badge. Each layer can display a static value or be bound to a data field — so when you run a mail merge, every label gets its own unique QR code generated from the corresponding row. You can set the error-correction level (L / M / Q / H) and choose custom foreground and background colours. QR code layers appear in all output modes: Fill & Print, batch merge, label sheets, and PDF export.

Can I use LabelPress to print name badges for events? +

Yes — conference badge printing is one of LabelPress's primary use cases, and the reason the app was originally built. It supports two workflows:

  • Pre-event batch printing — import your full attendee list from a CSV or Excel export (Eventbrite, Google Sheets, etc.), preview every badge, and print the entire run in one job before the conference starts.
  • At-desk on-demand printing — type a name directly in Fill & Print and send a single badge to the printer in seconds to handle walk-ins or replacements at the registration desk.

Butterfly mode prints two mirror copies of the badge on a single strip so it can be folded over a lanyard clip. Works on sticker paper (self-adhesive label rolls) or plain paper. LabelPress was originally developed and tested on the Epson ColorWorks C4000 colour label printer.
